Mercedes-Benz's mammoth SUV is being facelifted for its mid-lifecycle. The GL-Class was launched in 2006. It seems Mercedes-Benz is offering two different trim levels of the GL in the same way as the new 2010 E-Class. These spied prototypes show the black car with an LED light strip on the front bumper and a newly designed stainless steel underbody guard. That one would be the Elegance. The silver vehicle should be the Avantgarde model with its twin round headlights taken from the 2010 E-Class Avantgarde version.
For the facelift the GL also gets new LED rear lights, new door mirrors, a redesigned rear bumper and integrated exhaust pipes. Regarding engines it's expected most will remain unchanged but a few new ones will be introduced. These include GL350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY and the GL350 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY which will help the company keep emissions low(er).
