Mercedes E-Class Coupe Promotional Video

Set for a Geneva debut

Mercedes already gave us an early preview of the 2010 E-Class Coupe that will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month and now the company has released a new promotional video showing the coupe in action.

Designed as a replacement for the CLK, the new coupe adopts the E-Class sedan's front end and features Mercedes latest design language. The sleek exterior enables the coupe to boast an extremely low drag coefficient of 0.24, making it the world's most aerodynamically efficient production car. Inside, the E-Class design theme carries over with the biggest difference being two individual rear seats instead of the sedan's standard rear bench.

Of course beauty is more than skin deep, so Mercedes outfitted the new model with several updated engines that feature more power and improved fuel efficiency. Among the new petrol models being offered are the four-cylinder 250 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY that features 150 kW as well as a combined fuel consumption of 7.0L/100km and the E 350 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY which uses spray-guided direct petrol injection to enable it to produce 215 kW and average 8.5L/100km. On the diesel side there is a new E 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY that features two-stage turbocharging, precise piezo injectors and the latest common-rail technology, it cranks out 150 kW and 500 Nm of torque which should allow it to return 5.3L/100km in the combined cycle.

An American launch is scheduled for later this summer but in Europe the new model should begin arriving at dealerships this May.

This sort of blondies are not a rear female kind in my life but that Merc is... in a way. Beautiful car and just not boring at all like these blonds are.

*YAWN* About as exciting (and as colorful) as steamed milk. I too, would look at the car, see that is has an automatic transmission and do an "about-face." I say, cover it back up.

I think that the coupe looked a lot better than the sedan. I wonder if they would make a convertible one out of E-class.

This car is not marketed to anyone who regularly logs on to websites like WCF. This is marketed to the professional American woman. Same as the SLK. This is the perfect woman's car because it is sleek, conservative, smooth, quiet and very comfortable. My wife drives an SLK and she loves it. It is a great car for what it is but I could never live with a car that small. Mercedes did a great job redesigning this car for the market they are going after. Women and old men will love it, just like the SLK.

m!, this is actually built on the E-class platform. But it is very very ugly. The 3 series coupe and audi A5 look much better than this. Take off the star and replace it with a Lexus badge, that's how it looks. Looks like a Toyota Camry from the back.
