Spyker will unveil the production unit of their new Spyker C8 Aileron at the Geneva Motor Show in a few weeks. They released a new teaser image of the vehicle as well. The car debuted as a concept at the same show two years ago.

Despite falling on hard times in years past, Spyker managed to double production in 2008. They shipped 43 cars last year, and expect to increase that figure further thanks to the new C8 Aileron. Currently, Spyker is only producing the C8 Laviolette LM85, a special edition, but it will start assembly of the Aileron on about 1 April. Spyker has also secured additional financing to help the company get back on track.

Speculation has the vehicle coming with a 4.2-liter Audi V8 that produces 400 hp. The company has announced that the C8 Aileron will actually debut with an automatic gearbox. It will also have an "all-aluminium long wheel base" developed since the Aileron concept introduction. It will also get a top shelf Kharma sound system. Oh yeah, and a really cool electronic automatic hood.

We will get our first glimpse of the all-new Spyker C8 Aileron at the Geneva Motor Show on 3 March.

To be quite honest, I just don't see the point in Spyker. Some of the cars look amazing and you can see the craftsmanship in the upholstery, but when you look at the performance figures, I just don't see it.
