Hennessey to Prepare 2010 Ford Taurus SHO Tuning Package

Hennessey to Prepare 2010 Ford Taurus SHO Tuning Package
Hennessey 2010 Ford Taurus SHO

When Hennessey Performance Engineering sets out on a project one thing for certain is that there will be plenty of horses to write home about. Their next big job will be the new 2010 Ford Taurus SHO which has recently just revived the Super High Output (SHO) badge. Ford unveiled the Taurus SHO at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. John Hennessey himself owns one of the original Taurus SHOs so passion for the SHO name is certainly not lacking at least on the company founder's part.

As part of the tuning package Hennessey will fit components such as a boost controller, boost gauge, air filter and a different exhaust system. An upgraded suspension system, intercooler and turbo are included. The rest of the information will be available as soon as the car is made available for sale later on in the year.

The standard car packs a 365hp (268kW) twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost engine with peak torque of 350 lb-ft. It was intended to offer not only good power from low down the rev range through to the top but to be relatively thrifty on fuel too.

It shows that the auto industry is in-trouble well, companies like Hennessey are tuning up a Ford Taurus. Thats a joke on it's own. Well I guess it's ok as long as they don't bring out a aero kit for the car, cause their last attempt was a failure, enough to loss your lunch.

In what way does tuning a car mean the auto industry is in trouble?

I believe that the Op is looking at it in a satitirical sense. The auto industry is in trouble, so lets make a project out of tuning a taurus.

Not a wonder why American car industry is bankrupt, it's not just about the reliability, but the design is horrible.

in case no one follows the news, its not just the americans who are in trouble. The rest of the manufactures are also tensing up. In South africa, vw, mercedes, gm are all retrenching workers. The chinese fellows who all arrived in a great rush too sell there auotmotive products have disapeared just as quickly.

yugos junk are history, now producing fiat instead, and if you ask me, I drive mazda or german cars. American junk is out of the question, and they deserve to be bankrupt.

Maybe you should know your auto industry before commenting. It is a global financial market and they are ALL suffering. A lot (not all) of American cars are built just as good and better in some cases than the foreign ones. The unions and greed have really dragged them down as of late. As far as driving a Mazda vs. American, Ford owns them too.

There is car reliability index, and American cars are at the bottom of the list. I personally don't like the design which in my opinion is equal to French cars. Ford has 10% of Mazda's company, not all of it.

As American cars are "junk", most (insert the ethnic of preference)are (similar demeaning generalization). As dated as that stereotype is, so is that of msinisa. Though I'm no recent buyer of American cars, I am an auto enthusiast who notes the huge improvements they have made in the past decade or so. Actually, the 1st gen SHO was an outstanding performer and value. The next gen SHO with 365 hp is going to really be amazing. I drooled over it at Chicago's Auto Show and was impressed with every detail. From the auto lowering rear window to clear the weather seal to the Ford-made turbos. I'm so glad Ford has opted out of the Obama dole to socialize car makers. They retain the ability to make vehicls serving real buyer interests, not the things we "should" buy. This SHO is gonna be one bad ass car.

3 things are obvious to me after reading the negative comments here. The negative comment writers 1) can't spell, 2) don't know the car industry, 3) have never driven a Taurus SHO. At it's initial release this was commonly refered to as the American BMW. I'll be standing at the head of a long line waiting to get my hands on one!!!
