Yup, GOOD EYES GUYS!! My guess is that the maybach is a just a convoy protection vehicle...they have to use them for something right? And who in the world would shell that kind of money in these times for a generation old Sclass:S

Forget facelift, this is a "namelift". Honestly, the last thing the CL needs is a facelift and a namechange! CL was working fine!

I like the new naming of the Mercs, what sense does "CL" or "CLK" make? Do they even mean anything thing? ANYWEIGHS, Im upset because acording to these pictures, they didnt fix one of the only things I ddint like about the CL, the tail lamps.

CL stands for Comfort Leicht.

Hmm, I did NOT know that, thnks. (english= comfort light? So... clk = comfort leight kurz english= comfort light short) I still think thats pretty stupid, I mean, I understand it, but I think S class coupe makes more sense (S stands for sonderklasse(sp?) or special class for those of you who don't know)

I was told by MBAG people at the time that it stood for "Coupe Line." The CL has never been light by most standards. The SL earned that designation in the 1950s when its spaceframe was a lightweight construction method. Unfortunately, CL and C always had to fight over the same letter, despite different meanings (Coupe vs Compact). Odd to see them abandon all these nomenclatures just when they seem to have fleshed out the whole line with some sort of consistency. We'll be back to just C, E, S, SL, M and G before long. But what to do with the SLK and GLK? Suppose they'll stay the same... short/small (kurz) versions of the SL and G...

Mercedes needs to make up their mind on grille treatment. They change the design slightly every year. This is getting a little ridiculous. I'm all for "S-class coupe" though. With their interior's throwing back to the eighties now, a modern interpretation of the old SEC should be just as entertaining.

Uh, actually, yeah, all of the names for mercedes DO mean things. They're acronyms for words in German... They obviously don't just pick random letters and slap them on cars... especially ones of this caliber. I love the names that German cars receive. As soon as a Mercedes receives a name that is also a noun, I'm going to vomit, and loose all respect for them.

I am loving the new designations S Class and E Class Coupe...all that CL, CLC, CLS, CLK is all a bit too much....I just wish MB would stick with one them for the interiors (dash design) there are too many gimmicky and fussy options, have you seen the instruments of a new E Class Avant Guarde? It's all flash hooded anstruments, blinding colours etc etc...they should really have a look at what BMW are doing...choose a direction and run wiht it...New 7 series is a case in point, a smooth one hooded dash...clean and simple dials, likewise the controls...

I like the current design of it, I think that the grill is to big and I hope that they update some of the tech in the car becuse it is abit old and dated. S-Class coupe desingishes the car from the rest of the range and says that it is the top of the range but i like CL coupe more... (Even though I always need to think which MB is which)
