Which in turn is definitely not as cool as a Cayenne GTS or Turbo

which are all pointless because for the same sort of money you could buy yourself a Boxster S and a Land Rover Discovery with enough change for a 2nd hand Golf GTI, all which do most of the jobs this car is meant to do but better

Cayenne Turbo S is over the ML63 and then comes Cayenne Turbo and after that it will be X5M!!! Cayenne GTS is a step lower...etc.

i would probably go for the ML63, then the Cayenne Turbo and then this but, this does look nice in blue

as an owner of an 2007 X5 4.8i with a lease that will finish in about a year,, I am SO getting one of those once its my lease is over!!!
I LOVE the way my current X5 drives, even with the current 4.8 V8, I can still murder a Range Rover Sport Supercharged and go together with a cayenne S and an ML500
so this beast will easily go together with an ML63/Cayenne Turbo
maybe a boasted up Hamann version will make it go to a Cayenne Turbo S, but you never know, Porsche is pretty good with their SUVs

Love it. Looks great, and odds are it'll be fair competiton for the Cayenne Turbo, considering how well the 4.8i drives. Can't wait!

thinking about what this car is going to do to our environment makes me want to curl up into a ball and cry..

good one jb00, the people who will buy this are both stupid, and need limits on how and where they spend their (most probably) overpaid salary. While owning an x5m is "awesome" and "wack"; the fact that bmw has thrown millions into x5M development instead of fastracking their small electric car program or updating their diesel technology, proves that car makers are still turning a blind eye to the incontrovertible fact that the world has changed. This is car is over-bloated, over-fast, over-luxury and just plain over the top. yuk. But if my boyfriend bought me one i'd get it in red.

Agreed jb00 , but These arnt so poluting as people say , what about lorries and trucks , no one has ever said what emmissions they put out.
Why you need something like this in a city centre is beyond me .
People seem to forget that petrol had lead in years
ago, and was doing more harm than good , these days a ford mondeo will have the same emmissions as a 3.0 litre diesel bmw.

people who complain about the environment(with all do respect), these cars aren't really as bad as you though... there are standards which are used when building an engine like this, and thats why -even though not as much as hybrid X5- this car has gone through major testing against emission output,
and BMW is spending millions on their "EfficientDynamics" cars, which will be hybrid/semi-hybrid cars that will be implemented soon on the X5, X6, 7 Series and later on all BMWs.
just my two cents

I'd prefer a naturally aspirated SUV like the ML 63, the Cayenne Turbo is a tricky car to drive. If BMW's M X5 is naturally aspirated i'd definitely go for it!!!!
