Maxximus G-Force based on Ultima GTR 720 is World's Fastest Street-Legal Car

Two Indiana men claim to have built the fastest street-legal car in the world. Although mum's the word on its top speed, they say the Maxximus G-Force beats the Bugatti Veyron's acceleration time by going 0-60mph in just 2.1 seconds. It has an amazing 0-100mph (161 km/h) time of 4.54 seconds, and a 0-100-0mph time of 8.86 seconds!

The Veyron gets to 60mph from a dead stop in 2.46 seconds, and goes 0-100-0 in 9.9.

To truly win the title of fastest production car, the Maxximus will have to reach a top speed of 257 mph. The current title is held by the SSC Ultimate Aero TT. The SSC Aero is powered by a 6.35-liter twin-turbo V8, taking the benefit of 1287 hp, 1112 ft-lb of torque, and a top speed of 256 mph. Despite the recorded top speed, the Aero is geared to 272 mph.

The Maxximus G-Force, on the other hand, takes commands from a 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8 built by Chevrolet. Torque ratings are unknown, but since the car weighs 50 pounds less than the SSC Aero, the only thing standing in its way from the official "fastest production car" record would be a solid gearbox. It has already been certified Fastest Street-Legal Car by the World Records Academy. However, the credentials of the WRA, and the verification process they use, is unknown.

Maxximus G-Force is the brainchild of Securities specialist Dr. David McMahan, and his one-time chauffeur Marlon Kirby. During a limo ride, the two got to talking about cars, with McMahan saying he wanted a truly one-of-a-kind supercar. Kirby shared the same passion, and offered to design the vehicle if McMahan would bankroll the project. Soon after their conversation, Kirby began development of the G-Force by acquiring the exotic British-made ultima GTR 720. He replaced much of the chassis, the drivetrain, the gearbox, and put in the new engine with an aluminum block. Paddle-shifters control the three-speed transmission, and AP Racing brakes utilize six-piston calipers and 14.2-inch rotors to slow down the car.

You can't race this thing around for too long. The engine is capable of burning through the fuel in nine minutes.

With a cost of $3 million, the Maxximus G-Force will be introduced to the public at the Big Boy's Toys Super Show in Abu Dhabi on 30 April.

Put you money where your mouth is and prove it, till then your matchbox car is just another car with hopes and dreams. Looking at the aero of the car and the engine, I highly doubt you can live up to what you predict. and come on a Chev engine. please (sarcasim)

to get just that windshield to 257 mph will take 1000hp.

And how good it corners? If it is "the fastest car in the world" it should also get fast around the corners. It's made in US, it probably gets out of the corner looking at where it came from...

A regular ultima gtr handles better then an enzo, so this isn't just a drag car.

Top fuel dragsters only have one speed. You can do amazing things with thousands of foot pounds of torque and disposable clutch plates :P I must admit that I too have to laugh at 3 speeds, especially when the stock ultima comes with a nice porsche 5 speed... I guess mainly drag transmissions can handle the power this engine puts out.

7.0 litre V8 by chevrolet? sounds like the LS7 to me. but seriously, sure its cool to have the fastest street legal car, but for 3 million? there are so many cooler cars out there in that price range.

"Since the car weighs 50 pounds less than the SSC Aero, the only thing standing in its way from the official 'fastest production car' record would be a solid gearbox" From 300km/h upwards, weight means nothing. Only aerodynamics and engine power matter.

Production car??? How? production of 1...A V8 super car must be a production car then!!! Its a piece of junck made by 2 wacko's!!! If this car take the "prize" of Worlds Fastest Street-Legal car( production car or otherwise) it means the doorway is open to modify the arse off anything-Bugatti Veyron included. At least it and every one made comes of the factory floor with the same spec as per the offical spec sheet.Hho is world record academy anyway-i thought guinness was the only true reputable one. Anyway, regardless of the record, its UGLY, crudely engineered, and did i mention UGLY!!!I've seen better cars in a packet....

What is the torque? price at 3 millions?...Better use the money to buy 1 unit of Bugatti Veyron, 1 unit of Enzo (if any), 1 unit of Carrera GT (if any), and Zonda R. Frankly, it is quite ugly.

I don't get the point if the vid... The car acelerates and brakes after 3 seconds... Also, it's too high and the car is not aerodynamic.
