Mazda will keep the rotary engine for the two new models but says it will come with improvements

That sketch looks amazing, Mazda would be stupid not to build it, a surely be a hit, providing they stick to the way they sketch it

The sketch looks anything but mazda, no desin cues that they extesively put on nowdays. Eoo edgy. Looks More like old Camaro.

I am absolutely thrilled at the prospect of another (two) RWD, affordable sports car on the road that people actually desire!
Genesis coupe and upcoming Nissan "240sx", you've got some competition!

The 240sx aka Silvia, was canceled.The "Toyobaru" coupe is delayed, So the Hyundai coupe won't have to many enemies for a wile.

beautiful front end draft, some beautiful elements are taken from the RX8 and hope they do not add an extra gap between the front end lights to the vents.
Regarding the engine, maybe some more torque would be thumbs up.

Turbos should solve that but its hard to make torque in a rotary. They're high rev screamers.

sounds good, but that might just give it gas guzzler tax. lets hope this wasnt the same as the last rendering of the rx9

the last rx-7 has around 240hp yet has the same fuel economy as a 400hp 512TR. the rx-8 is much better and no turbocharger so the 20% better fuel economy is still going to be high. love rotary for giving good power/weight ratio but their power/fuel/emission ratio just kills it and it reflects on their lack of torque.

oh, and that drawing looks really nice. that design should be materialized for the road although maybe they should maintain some of the previous rx-7s roof lines instead of the corvette looking ones
