Good observation, the whole Tesla company and most EV schemes is "ahead of themselves".

What's so 'ahead of themselves' about this? There is clearly a huge demand for EV's, and at this current stage proper funding is crucial. I just hope Elon Musk isn't blowing smoke up everyone's arse.

EVs will never catch on until they develop a recharge system as quick as filling up at a gas station. Who wants to recharge a car for 8-10hours every night? Your electric bill will TRIPLE and in the end, it would be cheaper to have a gasoline car. Not to mention your insurance bill will be much higher if you have a collision deduction, since the technology is expensive and a crash most likely will result in totalling the vehicle.
