Hyundai announced pricing of the Genesis Coupe at the Chicago Auto Show. The much-anticipated sporty brother to the luxurious new Genesis sedan goes on sale later this month, offering rear-wheel drive and V6 power, and offering Hyundai a chance to play in the serious-performance market.

The Genesis Coupe is available with a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 210 horsepower, or a 3.8 liter V6 with 306 horses on tap. Both vehicles can be had with a six-speed manual transmission, and a Track package offering tighter handling, bigger brakes and other performance upgrades is available with both powertrains.

Since it's Hyundai, the reasonable nature of the pricing isn't much of a surprise. The Genesis Coupe 2.0T has an MSRP of just $22,000 for the base, manual-transmission equipped model. Opt for the five-speed automatic and the bottom line goes up to $23,250. For V6 power, the line starts at $25,000 for a manual transmission and $26,500 for automatic. A freight charge of $750 applies to all of the vehicles. Check out the press release for the full pricing matrix and standard equipment list.

I don't know about that pricing 25000 dollar for something made in a very cheap country, you have a corvette for 60000 dollar and thats twice the car, fourteen times the performance and thats build in the US. No i'm not that pleased, this is a car thats to expensive for its brand

what do you mean by cheap country?? isn't cheapest cars are made by Americans these days? let's compare with $25,000 american car with $25,000 korean car, not $60k vette and $25k korean coupe. most popular $25k american sports car? Mustang VS Genesis coupe...... who in right mind will take the trash Mustang???

you're comparing a $25k sports car with a $60k vette? why not just say you'd rather have an aston martin while you're at it? oh, that's not american either... jeez...

Because of it's relatively affordable price, this things are gonna get tuned more frequently than 370z for example, and probbably a few of them are going to be faster. But I'll take the 370z anyday over a top of the line Genesis. Still, in itself doesn't seem like a bad car for it's price.

I want one so much! Couldn't care less about the badge, it looks really good. I'm told that it's been designed by an international team at Hyundai California, but I can see some influences from Pininfarina. Calling it a copy of some Japanese or (laughingly) an American car is ridiculous. Might as well say that the Alfa Romeo 8C is a copy of a 1970's Datsun! :)

The price is unbelievable. I'm waiting for the UK delivery, but it's not soon enough. If this thing had a Maserati badge, and cost 5 times the price, I'd still call it worth every penny.
