Rolls-Royce's upcoming entry-level model, dubbed the RR4, has once again been spotted undergoing testing and this time we are able to bring you close up pictures of the car's luxurious interior.

Expected to be sold under the legendary Silver Ghost nameplate, the new model is based on the recently introduced BMW 7-series but features a slight stretch in overall length to 5.3 meters. Exterior styling is expected to be heavily influenced by the Phantom but it should be sleeker and more modern. Eventually the new sedan will spawn coupe and convertible stablemates which should help to increase Roll-Royce's typically low production volumes.

From the interior pictures it is clear that the brand's traditional English charm hasn't been lost in the German translation. A wide swath of wood trim spans the length of the dash while in the middle resides a large video screen, air vents, and secondary audio controls. Below sits a simplified version of BMW's iDrive which will handle the car's navigation and vehicle settings among other things. Thankfully the end result gives an impression that reminds us more of the Phantom and less of the 7-series which it is based off.

Power is expected to come from either BMW's 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 400hp and 450 lb-ft. of torque or a new V12 that will be exclusive to the RR4. If the V12 is given the green light, expect it to slot slightly below the Phantom's 6.75-liter V12. Several other engine options are also being considered including diesel and hybrid power plants.

The new model will be officially unveiled at an auto show later this year, possibly Geneva next month, and it will be priced from $250,000-280,000 in the United States while Europeans can expect to shell out at least €300,000.

"most noticeably the Phantom's suicide rear doors have been dropped and replaced by more conventional units on the RR4."

It appears to be using suicide rear doors just like the bigger Phantom.

It is actually sick that the Americans always get their cars cheaper - even though they are not made there. You can now see how much more profit they make out of non-Americans and how companies treat these non-Americans as fools. STOP BUYING UNTIL THEY REDUCE THE PRICE TO THE SAME AS THOSE IN AMERICA!!! THEY WILL STILL MAKE A PROFIT AT THE AMERICAN PRICE

The pricetags in the US are without VAT. In Europe the tagged price includes VAT which is also much higher (ø 18%) than in the US.

I know that.. I'm just talking from a consumer point of view, real price and purchasing power. Your VAT subjects brings me to another idea: why don't the European government decrease the VAT on vehicle purchase to stimulate sales so that the auto makers can have a better prospect?

Hm, its a 7series in RR clothes, so exactly what is the point? the RR badge doesnt justify that price in my opinion... gimme a 760.

It's got 7 Series features - which are the best from BMW. But it is far from the 7 Series!

That steering wheel looks like the new 911's. Hope it doesn't have backward shifters too...
