Hyundai just announced plans to introduce the new three-door i20 alongside the i30 blue and HED-6 concept at the Geneva Motor Show, but here is our first glimpse of the upcoming model.

Set to play an important role in Hyundai's European lineup, the new i20 three-door mixes entry-level affordability with a sporty appearance. From the leaked images it is clear that the new i20 is virtually identical to its five-door sibling from the A-pillar forward, from there back many of the cars styling features have been kept intact making this a successful two-door amputation.

Power options include three petrol engines, the 1.2-liter with 78 hp, a 1.4-liter producing 100 hp and a 1.6-liter churning out 126 hp. Diesel fans get a 1.6-liter unit that cranks out 115 hp.

Look for the i20 three-door to go on sale during the second quarter of 2009 with prices starting somewhere in the neighborhood of €12,000.

Uhmmmmm.....is it quite late to show this car, I mean the i20 is already release in Asia or unless Europe hasn't got this car, Ok the i30 hasn't come yet.

A little boring, but still kinda cute. Looks like a Corsa, but SURPRISINGLY a little more upmarket.

Is this courtesy of the European Patent Office as well? The dull grey renderings look like it...

Hyundai i20 COUPE? WTF? This is not a coupe. If this is a coupe, then Smart is a sportscar

To me this looks smaller in every dimension than the i30 ... similar (but different) styling of both front and rear lamps and panel lines have me thinking it would be the replacement model for the Getz rather than an i30 with two doors removed.
