Hyundai just announced plans to introduce the new three-door i20 alongside the i30 blue and HED-6 concept at the Geneva Motor Show, but here is our first glimpse of the upcoming model.
Set to play an important role in Hyundai's European lineup, the new i20 three-door mixes entry-level affordability with a sporty appearance. From the leaked images it is clear that the new i20 is virtually identical to its five-door sibling from the A-pillar forward, from there back many of the cars styling features have been kept intact making this a successful two-door amputation.
Power options include three petrol engines, the 1.2-liter with 78 hp, a 1.4-liter producing 100 hp and a 1.6-liter churning out 126 hp. Diesel fans get a 1.6-liter unit that cranks out 115 hp.
Look for the i20 three-door to go on sale during the second quarter of 2009 with prices starting somewhere in the neighborhood of €12,000.
