BMW M7 Rendered

 BMW M7 Rendered
BMW M7 Artists Rendering / autojunk.nl

BMW has time and time again denied even considering a 7 Series-based M7 luxury high-performance sedan. That doesn't stop the rumour mill from spinning at high speed though. For sure a twelve-cylinder 760i is under production as proven by spy pictures.

But this rendering of a possible BMW M7 may be seen as a nudge to the powers that be by fans that as nice as a 760i might be, it does not replace the craving they experience for something more. The front bumper is certainly M as it resembles other M bumpers from cars like the M5. The side mirrors were strangely left untouched but the wheels got seven double-spoke rims that almost pass as genuine M kit. This artist impression is more like the touch of a feather than a passionate stroke from a Picasso brush.

Sticking with the rumour theme, a BMW M7 would probably use the same 6.0-litre V12 from a 760i and produce in excess of 600hp (441kW) through the use of turbo technology. It would compete with cars like the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG/ S600 and the Audi S8.

Why would you even post that?

Hi teXas, we try and select stories that we believe will be interesting to the audience as a whole. Unfortunately not everyone thinks so, as you have expressed. However, this story is the no.1 most popular for the day, and judging by the number of comments received in such a short period of time, i would say it was a good topic choice. Thanks for your feedback.

That looks nothing like anything M or any other BMW division would ever produce. And how would a 600BHP monster (if the made up technical specs are to be believe) be a competitor for a 450BHP Audi S8. The S8's performance is about the same as that of a 740i (courtesy of it's ample turbo torque) and the stock V12 seven series will undoubtedly better those figures, when it's produced. Is there a source for that six litre displacement on the V12, or are you just assuming that it will be six litres because the last one was? It seems more likely to me that we'll see a smaller displacement V12 with turbos rather than a full fat six litre. If anything an M7 would be aiming towards Bentleys in terms of performance, if not luxury and exclusivity. This seems very clumsy. NB: There is a difference between a rumour and making things up so you have something to post.

Fully agree. Speculation is good. But please keep it separate from fact. Just cause you feel a 6.0 V12 sounds like a good idea, doesn't' mean it will be. Will this be another Scuderia 16M folding hardtop fiasco? Come on WCF. The rendering's very lazy too. My six-year old nephew could slap OZ wheels on a car.

if M7 would ever be produced the only competitor in term of performance is similar 6.0L V12 S65 AMG and not some S600/S63 cos they are more of a 760i competition! Audi S8/W12 is way down! Maybe here could be Bentley Flying Spur Speed also competitive! But I think that M7 won`t be produced because BMW cannot sell a car which is over 200K € and ///M philosophy doesn`t include luyurious sedans and big TT V12!!! But that was also said about SUV with M badge and what we have now is upcoming X5 M :) We will see

actually the s8 v10 is a NA it doesnt have turbos. and it easily beats the 750 and slightly beats the 760 bmw but costs less

The S8 might pip the 750, but it would be close. Note that I'm talking about the '09 750 with the biturbo V8, not the outgoing naturally aspirated model. The point is that they are much closer in terms of performance than an S8 and a hypothetical M7 would be.

@DolceRides: yes S8 is faster than 760i current model, but next 760i will have almost 100hp more and TT! Maybe next S8 will have engine from RS6 and around 600hp and then it would be comparable with king on scene which is there already 5 years - S65 AMG! So first in a whole production there will be some rivals...first this M7 if it will be, and if S8 is going to be so powerful??? Until the...S65 AMG rules...2nd is Bentley Flying Spur Speed and then other such as S600 and S63 AMG!

Whats about the BMW B7?
February 7, 2009 5:10 am
 Swifty Swifty
B7 is not a BMW it`s ALPINA, small tuning manufacturer which upgrades BMW and make it even more refined and powerful, but different philosophy is used than in ///M products!

I know that, but instead of having M7 they have the B7, which is being sold in BMW dealer.

Speculation as to whether the M7 will ever exist aside, am I alone in thinking this rendering looks far, far better than the S8 or S65, with or without the aftermarket wheels?

Why would they put the Audi S6 wheels on it? Slightly different, but hey, I guess imitation truly is the sincerest form of flattery!

They would never use SUCH low-profile tires even for an M-car.

BMW, go ahead and built it. Make a new car people want, desire and dream about, like an M7, instead of coming up with cars people don't even need to start with, like that PAS thing.

I'd rather have the CS concept than an M7 built on the 7 Series. The CS looks so mean, yet classy and sporty.

Im all for an M7, its for the man with the inner child who out grown an M5. I think their is a place in the market for this, unlike that bloody stupid X6
