Exactly, if I wanted the limo, I'd buy a Maybach! If I wanted a bigger car, I'd buy the S Class. It's not like this car will be in the E class price range.

For those who need a more affordable stretched limo? For use as a Hotel shuttle... I think these are also used as wedding cars, it also depending on the market I guess, because the E-class stretched limos were not available in some countries.
PS: This concept isn't really new, its been done many of times already, check out the old models...

looking at the middle bit, it loks like it was build by a bloke in a shed... who had no idea what he was doing...

You got that spot on janobr ... looking at the third and fourth pictures, the complete misalignment of door lines makes it look like there's an elephant sitting in the back ... there's no way this could be a factory test vehicle from MB or even one from a serious stretch limo producer.

The previous E-class stretch limos were popular as special taxis, hotel shuttles and wedding cars... so I guess we have an idea of what this might be used as... Unlike an S-class, the E-class stretch limos could seat 7-8 people.

Well, there are some companies who can make stretch limos from any car, so Merc is just trying to stole some costumers from the small companies.

looks like the car's doors may need redesigning for matching the line continuity.

Love how the S-Class Pullman limosuine is only 20cm longer than the standard Maybach 62...

Well...consider that in some markets there is the Audi A4 long wheel base version.
Different markets have different needs.

The TAXIS you guys are referring to have 6 doors, which this doesnt...they are used to shuttle people, and can fit the 1+3+3 comfortably. They are used a lot in switzerland...but this...:S

The early models that were made in-house by Mercedes only had 4-doors.

The 6-door models (like most newer E-class stretched limos) were made/converted by limousine manufacturer like Binz.

Imagine how this car must handle - you'll definately not see a car like that from BMW

Beemers had Limos in past and they knew the owners wont be street racing with them.

I know it is a BINZ Limousine not a Pullmann, BINZ is a Mercedes Converter from Lorch, South West Germany and this is probably a test car.
