Let me help you out. A major maker is announcing a new product line (arguably a new division) and strategy. This maker is rumored to be in merger talks with Fiat, who recently took a substantial stake in Chrysler. The new product line is rebirth of one of the most recognized series of automobiles in history. There just might be other points I missed.

What's the point? I work in advertising, a brand is the biggest asset a company has, the brand IS the company. Citroen was once a bastion of innovation in the 1960's producing legendary, iconic vehicles (think DS et al) but they lost their way, and for my generation, (particularly here in the UK), Citroens are associated with deals, discounts, special offers, cashback and slopping plastic diesel runabouts that you have to buy, not want to but have to buy. A new brand and a new line-up of exciting, iconic models couldn't come soon enough.

This does seem to be a major tipping point time for Citroen. If the company plays the next couple of years right they can regain much of their former glory. If they don't they are likely to be gone or surviving in a very different form. It's weed-out time in the industry and recent news stories point to PSA doing some positive things for the Citroen brand at this crucial moment.

Nice redesign. I like the way they managed to incorporate it in the bonnet of the DS3 concept.
