Corvette GT-1 Edition

An engineer from the Corvette assembly plant in Kentucky told members of the National Corvette Restorers Society that a new limited edition ‘Vette package by the name of GT-1 would be introduced. The timing of the introduction is expected to be the coming spring.

This GT-1 package will be paying tribute mainly to Corvette Racing C6.Rs with its distinctive yellow colours dominating the livery. The team's very intimidating mascot Jake will be prominently displayed. Some of the GT-1's features will be a choice of two Racing C6.R-inspired colours; a Velocity Yellow with Black Stripes or Black with Yellow Stripes. Even the gear shifter will be accentuated in yellow stitching.

Body coloured door handles, carbon fiber patterned engine covers, owners' names on the roof and forged chrome wheels are just some of the cars' appearance characteristics. The report says this package will be available on coupe, convertible and Z06 models.

The interior will get special exclusive GT-1 embroidery on the seats and console lid. Pricing for the package is to be announced at launch.

Once again, fellow car enthusiasts from Europe, please give your keyboards a rest and be assured that most Americans are not infatuated with the Corvette. Lots of us don't subscribe to the image, mentality or quality of these things throughout most of their production run. This doesn't mean that we don't respect the small proportion of owners who go to the track and compete well. I kind of respect that GM does so well with old tech and low budget, but I'd never want to own one. I certainly wouldn't to want to put owning one on display by driving it at 5 miles an hour around town wearing a shiny jacket proclaiming my unwavering loyalty to an Earnhardt.

This is exactly the reason why Chev should be the first to go bankrupt. After everything thats happened they are going to invest in thousands of dollars, if not millions to create a new variation of the ZR1 by means of new colors. Now ask you self how many of the ZR1’s are actually going to sell… Rather invest on finding, I can not believe i’m saying this, but rather invest in electric driven cars. the volt is far from perfect.

Chill man, this will be available on coupe, convertible and Z06 models. Not the ZR1, the ZR1 it's already perfect, and it's just an esthetic package, that doesn't cost to much.

never knew a paint job was investing that much ;) Also, Chevy will sell all of their zr-1's when the day is done, none of them will ever sit on a show room floor for to long.
