Renault Clio Facelift

We're not sure where, or when, but some amateur spy captured the facelifted Renault Clio sitting in a parking lot. Set for a March introduction, the redesigned supermini is an update on the third generation Clio.

Renault carefully refined their car, starting by an almost complete overhaul of the front. New headlights, new grille, new intake, and a new front bumper assist in giving the car a more aggressive look. Body-coloured side mouldings gives the car a more appealing look. But this is not just an exterior redesign. The freshened-up Clio is also expectd to have higher quality materials inside. Although the driver will not gain much more in the sense of ride functionality, the upholstery and equipment used will be upgraded. That alone should make this car more comfortable.

Expect to see the facelifted Renault Clio, and the Clio Sport Tourer, at the Geneva Motor Show for its debut.

It looks like a little Mégane.

I love the looks of current 200 bhp Clio. This one lost its character to become a bit more of "womens car"... Shame.

All of Renault's cars are slowly losing character. The new Megane is totally anonymous, the Laguna is hopeless and now they are going to destroy the Clio too. Personally I like the design direction that Citroen is taking recently. Peugeot's are nice too, but the 'big mouth' design of their cars is also a little off. If I was buying French, I'd say Citroen first, Peugeot second and Renault... well if it is was my money, maybe I just wouldn't buy French!

This looks like made for some kid's cartoon, like Cars. Just make me smile.

I like it. To me, lots of the plain Renault designs don't date as badly as other cars the same age, like the 19, 25 and 21. The Peugeots date very quickly. Just remember as well, the plainer a car in the first place, the easier to facelift it. But the Clio has always been a car for the ladies.

well, like all the recent renaults, since the previous ('00???) Laguna, i didn't like the Clio when it went out for sale... now that i was starting to "accept" it's lines, they change the front end totally... and for worse! why can't renault make good loking cars from the start?! the only renault i liked from the beggining, lately, is the brand new renault megane coupe! why?! well, it has a lot of vw scirocco in it! if not, i think it would be rubish as well! (don't gimme french cars! all of them seem like spaceships or something :S)
