BMW's X5 is due for a minor facelift at the end of 2009, and spies have captured prototypes of what appears to be the base model for the first time. Previous spy photos have captured more aggressive-looking 2010 X5s in track testing, but these shots appear to show a more restrained version. The E70 X5 sports a rounder front fascia, and the dazzle camouflage on the new front bumper doesn't completely hide the slightly bolder profile. At the rear there are new, sedan-like taillights and a tall, flatter aspect.
BMW will equip the top of the line 2010 X5 with a 400-plus-horsepower twin-turbo V8, tagged as an M-badged version. What we've got here appears to be a much more sedate version.
