When Alpina released a sketch of its next B7 in December 2008 fans of the brand began to look forward to the day the car went public. That day arrives first week of March 2009 when the press arrives at the Geneva Motor Show. Based on the 2009 BMW 7 Series the Alpina B7 looks quite similar to the previous one. It features a new aero kit and a new rear spoiler. The wheels look very similar to those in the last B7 which wore 21-inch alloys. The last B7 was powered by BMW's 4.4-litre supercharged V8 engine. It made 500hp (373kW) and 700Nm for a 0 - 100km/h time of 5.5 seconds. Details will come to light at the official reveal.
Not content on just revealing the B7, Alpina will also showcase its newest motorsports challenger called the B6 GT3 in Geneva. This 530hp (390kW), 725Nm racer marks Alpina's return to motor racing after a 20-year absence. The car is to be entered in the 2009 FIA GT3 European Championships and other prominent endurance races as well. The public will also be able to buy the 4.4-litre supercharged B6 GT3.
