A picture showing the Opel Insignia OPC/ Vauxhall Insignia VXR has been leaked. The high-performance sedan shows the same vertical front air intakes that featured in the Opel GTC Concept. The GTC Concept was unveiled at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show and it previewed the Insignia's design language.
Power is expected to come from a twin turbo V6 producing in the region of 320bhp (239kW). Power is transmitted to the 255/35 R20 tyres through a 4WD system.
Mr. Hans Demant, MD of Opel says prototypes of the OPC/ VRX that are running have been tested at the Nürburgring and they produced times amounting to just over eight minutes. For comparisson cars like the BMW M3 (E92) and Audi R8 have posted times of less than 8 minutes and 10 seconds at the ‘Ring.
The car appearing here as a styling concept will be seen at the Geneva Motor Show while its production version could debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show or even earlier.
