I don't get it this is a masked up touring wagon that looks nothing like a panamera. How is it BMW's version of the panamera? The CS concept would be BMW's version of the panamera not this wagon.

Pretty big grille, little bit like on the 7 series. But id much rather like to know what kind of van that is, in the background ( white one ) ? :)

Okay, now the BMW fanboy police is coming after me: I don't like it. Just as I don't like the new 7 series, and never really liked the current 3 series - the odd head lights and those old Nissan Primera tail lights have never actually convinced me. The 1 series is cool and somewhat sexy, but not half as harmonic, well balanced and proportionate as a Beemer should be. I also think the X3 and X5 are plain dull, boring, almost burocratic designs. Which had me thinking: has BMW lost its ability to design some of the most stylish, handsome, sensual mainstream machines ever made? Yes, because as it seems, they can still make some brilliant niche vehicles, such as the amazing Z4, the surprising X6 or the polemic 6 series - my personal favorite. The rest is, to say the least, a little odd. Well, maybe 'odd' works for some segments, but not for all. Maybe 'odd' is a risk worth taking. Maybe 'odd' is the new beautiful, and I was the one not to get the memo. Maybe 'odd' sells. But hey, that's just maybe.

i can see where you're coming from; modern bmw designs are rather odd. but odd can work - i personally love the look of the current 5 and 7, as well as the facelifted 3. i think it comes down to personal preference, basically; what you may see as odd i see as interesting or new, for example. and what you might see as conservative or understated in an audi or mercedes i see as downright boring and uninspired. i think bmw is shooting for a somewhat younger market with their new, almost funkier designs. also, i think people need to stop comparing current bmws to old ones - it's an entirely different design philosiphy that's never going to have anything in common with the old one, save kidney grilles, dual headlamps and the hoffmeister kink.

I know im bias to Mercedes, but, politz is right. BMW has become bland as hell. Chris Bangle was one of the most influential designers in the industry, until he got humbled by the criticism the last 7 series. In my opinion, the last 7 is a beautiful car, a piece of s*#$, but a good looking one. The new 7 isnt ugly, its just way to conservative. I admired the fact that BMW was coming out with these dramatic designs such as the last 7, the 6 series and Z4. And was glad that Mercedes got there head out there ass and followed the trend (CLS) and applied it to there current vehicles;(S,C, new E-class). Which brings me to the current point, this "sport wagon" is bloated, and boring.
