GM cites financial woes as reason

The financial crisis has bumped the Cadillac CTS coupe! Say it ain't so? The handsome two-door compact luxury coupe was one of the stars of the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and Cadillac promised a 2009 debut as a 2010 model. It was previewed to journalists at Pebble Beach, but then the planned introduction of the production version at the Los Angeles Auto show didn't happen and the word on the street was that it had been postponed indefinitely.

Now we know that the CTS coupe hasn't been cancelled, but the current economic woes have led the General to push the car's introduction back a year. It is now scheduled to hit the market in 2010. Cadillac's other 2009 debuts, the CTS Sport Wagon and SRX crossover, remain on schedule to hit the streets in the spring and summer, respectively.

Joanne Krell, a GM spokeswoman, said, "Obviously we are in a challenging economic time, and one of the changes is to move the coupe back a year. Instead of coming out this summer, it will come out next summer."

oh come on GM. you're probably not going to be around next summer. Just build the car so that the ones of us who are willing to buy your better products actually get the privelige

In 5 years this car is going to look very dated. It has the same basic shape of a 1980 Chevy Citation.

This car looks very good, i saw it at the London Motor Show and it looks fantastic, especially the back.

Drop this garbage. Looks like some hatchback wannabe coupe that got smashed in from the rear by an Escalade. The wheels look way too small on the car and what's with that side profle that makes the car look it was carved out of a cardboard box. The sedan looks much better than this junk.
