GM cites financial woes as reason

The financial crisis has bumped the Cadillac CTS coupe! Say it ain't so? The handsome two-door compact luxury coupe was one of the stars of the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and Cadillac promised a 2009 debut as a 2010 model. It was previewed to journalists at Pebble Beach, but then the planned introduction of the production version at the Los Angeles Auto show didn't happen and the word on the street was that it had been postponed indefinitely.
Now we know that the CTS coupe hasn't been cancelled, but the current economic woes have led the General to push the car's introduction back a year. It is now scheduled to hit the market in 2010. Cadillac's other 2009 debuts, the CTS Sport Wagon and SRX crossover, remain on schedule to hit the streets in the spring and summer, respectively.
Joanne Krell, a GM spokeswoman, said, "Obviously we are in a challenging economic time, and one of the changes is to move the coupe back a year. Instead of coming out this summer, it will come out next summer."
