It will never happen. The last recession killed the XJ220 and lead to a lot of egg on Jaguar's face. Surely they can't make the same mistake twice?
As an aside, the bonnet is always at the front of the car, never at the back.

Jaguar are on a role or what, looks and sounds right on the money! By the time it's on sale the crdeit crunch will hopefully have levelled off.

If they really make it, it really can shame Porsche 911 and the Audi R8. Seriously

Well, the rendering looks awesome. I love Jags, it's great to hear they are making big success lately.

bristol411s3 has a very valid point. That being said the rendering looks sexy. I say they should hold out until the recession is over.

Its about making a powerful supercar to compete with other brands. In other words they are providing someone with an alternative. Not everyone wants a Porsche, Mercedes or an Audi. wonderful cars, but not everyone has the same taste. However I must say those mentioned ARE tough to beat horsepower alone won't cut it and if Jag does not have this car dialed in just right then everything else won't matter.

Too bad that AutoExpress is the source. They have a lot of fun information on their site, but an amazing proportion of their scoops on future models don't materialize. I'm still waiting with excitement over the BMW reintroduction of the Triumph brand.
I'm willing to bet that if Tatra does do this car that it won't have a grill that looks anything like the old Ford Taurus/new XK design.

My guess is it will happen but possibly a couple of years late. This segment after all is a high profit margin segment and all cars are kind of sold before being built, so it makes perfect economic sense. What TATAs need to do is develop a few fully functional prototypes and have the top journalists test it out and write very very positive things about the car. That's it. People looking to spend $150,000.00 plus on an exotic car actually want exclusivity. And Jag can provide that. Go to LA and all you can see it Fers and Lambos, of lately some R8s.

There are many more that can provide exclusivity beside Ferrari and Lambos-Astons,Pagani,Koenigsegg,Porsche,Bentley,Rolls,Bugatti,Maserati,Maybach,McLaren.And im not even mentioning all those exclusive Tuning brands that can make your Benz,Audi or BMW look like a space ship^^.Thatswhy i dont think millionaires "need" this Jag

Looks great, but whats with the speculative article regarding powerplant and performance numbers? It's a drawing, for Christs sakes... "The XE should boogie to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds" -- I would hope so!! That's hardly impressive. Even Nissans so that now. Gimme sub 3 second times and I'll call it a "supercar"

i think it will be fine now that jag has finally started to make some decent looking cars
