Despite just having unveiled the 2010 Honda Insight at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit a few days ago, Honda has announced their new European accessories for the model.

Exterior accessories include modified front and rear ends, side skirts, a black mask for the front bumper which covers the traditional chrome, and metallic-looking B-pillars and door handle trim. Owners can also choose from a variety of wheels, such as 15" Crystal design or 16-inchers offered in either Cronos or Turbine design.

For the interior Honda offers blue ambient lighting for the front footwells and center console and stainless steel front and rear door trim strips inscribed with the Insight name. Thankfully there are some usable options including a portable wide-screen navigation system that mounts to the dash, a dual rear-seat DVD entertainment system, and a hard disk based navigation system that features 40GB of storage and Bluetooth connectivity.

Really?! I really hope you're in the minority because I want this car to sell well!

Brilliant. I love it.

If I like the test drive, I'm sold.

I am glad Honda scrapped their NSX project for the same reason I dislike this new Insight. When I think NSX, I think 2-seater, mid-engined everyday supercar; similarly, when I think Insight, I think of the cute, little 2-seater made entirely of aluminum with skinny tires. Why does Honda insist on undermining the heritage of their previous models? Just call it something else! This Insight isn't even targeting the same consumer market!
