Thousands of WorldCarFans readers responded to our "Stars of 2009 NAIAS" poll, and the votes are in. Voters overwhelmingly chose the Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI as the "Best Production Car" at the Detroit show. Nearly 31% selected the 517 hp Audi, with the 2010 BMW Z4 hardtop convertible being the runner-up.

Other notable vote-getters include the Mercedes Mclaren SLR Stirling Moss, which got over 13%, the Fisker Karma, at 9%, and the 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang, receiving about 8.7%. The full tally can be seen below.

In our "Best Concept Car" survey, nearly 27% of voters chose the much anticipated Audi A7 Sportback Concept, making it first overall in the poll. The runner-up Volkswagen Concept BlueSport, a 57mpg turbo-diesel roadster, was not even close garnering about 15%. The Fisker Karma S, Cadillac Converj Concept, and the Volvo S60 Concept finished in third, fourth, and fifth. You can see the full chart here:

Thanks to everybody who took part in the poll!

"dear god no" Are you kidding? That is one of the best looking concept cars i have seen in quite some time, and it would kick it's rivals collective arse if it made it to production...

dumped my Q7 for an A6 recently and have never regret it, the A7 might be my next car. i hope the trunk isn`t too small in reality. it`s a gorgeous car inside out and deserves the no1 spot there.

The R8 is a definate yes but that A7 looks like a Toy car. I must admit though that the Volvo 4 door coupe concept has the most clean lines thus far. The now aged CLS Merc is way better than this A7.I just can't see it competing against the Merc.

I don't see what the hype about the A7 Concept is. To me, the CS concept from BMW last year was more meaningfull. IMHO, the A7 is ugly front and back. The inteior is nothing special. Good taillights though, still does not deserve this spot. Maybe we had more Audi fans voting on this one.....
