The 2009 Barrett-Jackson auction event became the first place where the new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro was sold off the floor. The Camaro will go to a bidder who paid US$350,000 for the future privilege of driving the first unit to come out of the production line about a month from now.
The new owner gets to spec the car as much as he likes by choosing from a wide colour palate, between the V6 or V8 engines, automatic or manual and so on. All proceeds go to the American Heart Association. That means any amount above the auctioned Camaro's MSRP will be tax deductible by the winning bidder.
Last year the first Corvette ZR1 went under the auction hammer for US$1million and proceeds also went to the AHA.

He paid so much for it because it's a car from the future. From year 2010 to be exact
they did say tax deductible don't forget. These people could have high taxes anyway so instead they give it to charity.
give money to charity instead of the government and get a custom built car that no one has yet as a reward? sounds good to me......
