I don't understand this model. Is there really such a big market between the A4, which has great all-wheel drive capabilities, and the Q5 SUV.

I completely agree with you. I can't see a market for car that's located between A4 Quattro and Q5. I think Q5 and A4 with AWD is enough and they are going to put another car betwen them, that's stupid.

i'd have to disagree. chances are it's gonna share something like 95% of it's components (if not a lot more) with a normal A4 Avant, so it creates a product for a slightly different client (and gains the the profit associated) without the massive cost of fully developing a new model

agreed! i really think the market for this kind of car in these times is quite broad, (unfortunately), and this will do well. think of merc, they literally have a car for ever person on the planet! its ridiculous! to try and walk out of a merc dealer saying they dont have something for you, would be the most fruitless excuse according to the salesman! A,B,C,E,G,GL,ML,S classes all have variants in body styles K versions, amg versions ect, not to mention engine choices... lol but it gives them considerable market share, and they have the ability to basically all share the same parts. ... gaah merc frustrate me! haha

Like Sub said, its almost a new model while sharing 95% of the same components. Minimal costs. In Canada, this should sell quite well.
