Wald International has officially introduced their new body package for the Nissan GT-R.  The Japanese tuner has not released any engine modifications, citing the "difficulty in tuning the GT-R's engine."

The company has created several carbon-fibre body parts to lighten the vehicle's weight and make the car more aerodynamic.  They custom built a front-lip spoiler and nose cover, and rear wing.  Low-drag duct covers from another lightweight composite material are in place, while under the hood the cutomer will find a carbon-fibre engine cover.

Wald's aero-kit comes in the glossy finish typically used for street cars, called wet carbon fibre, or a dull matte grey color, called dry carbon fibre.  The second choice is usually used on racers.  A wet carbon kit starts at 1,039,500 yen ($11,620), with the dry carbon kit going for about 2,362,500 ($26,410).  Prices include taxes.

The GT-R is perfect the way it is. Leave it alone.

fanboy much? no car is perfect -- mclaren tried with the f1, and price aside they came pretty close, but even that wasn't perfect. nor is the veyron.

As much as I love the R35, I have to admit that this kit does make this GTR far more aggressive. Love that front bumper.

Its a bit over the top for my likings esp the rear wheel flares.

Couldn't they call it gloss or matt, instead of stupid "wet" and "dry"?

Its pretty nice, the car even stock has the performance to back up the looks though, im not sure i would mess with the GT-Rs stock aeros. Stock D/C is at .29 which is amazing, though Wald is a quality company and know what they're doing.

Yeah i agree i wouldn't mess with the aeros and I'm not sure how that steep diffuser would work? i think nissan had it right to start with.

Ya, the R35 GT1 test race car despite having a widebody, uses the GT-Rs front bumper almost identically, so clearly NISMO didn't want to mess with a good thing. Which also inclines me to think we're right about not messing with a good thing. That said the kit does look good.

Minus the spot lights too! maybe thats why they did away with the brake ducts under the headlights from the gt-r proto?

the center grille is nice with the matte finish but the fog lights ya... would have been cleaner with just vents...

This kit does look good, with the exception of the rear wheel arches...but then WALD's kits usually do look good. I don't see how you cut a car's weight by adding more stuff to it, though. Additionally IMO, carbon fiber engine covers are a bit rediculous...How much weight can you really shed by replacing plastic the size of an engine cover? Lastly, along the lines of what the rest of you have said, I would be interested to see a COD comparo.
