Oh My Gawd, This is the car that results from hippie scientists cross-breeding a scion tc and a dodge caliber! Actually, what a piece. You'd think after 5 years technological advancement since the last prius, that they could actually produce some amazing new efficiencies. This is pathetic. What a scam. HYBRIDS ARE ALL FAD!!!

Does it come with a ski mask or a really really long turtle neck? Tinted windows perhaps? How camouflage about face paint?

Not that bad, definitely better than the Honda. And the Golf? Don't make me laugh, is that your idea of the ultimate exciting, original design? And Top Gear not liking it is more of a plus side for me.

just another lunchbox... many diesels in europe can get similar results without the contaminating batteries... and from all the lunchboxes the volt is the best looking one and probably the best one in many other things...

Although styling is purely a subjective matter, I still think if it wore an audi badge, you all would like it, you herd of sheep. Judging the fuel cons. on a track, flat out. How can you actually use this as an argument? Comparing the fuel cons. to a diesel is also hardly relevant as the Prius is all about emissions. For soot and NOx diesel's are definetaly worse. For the contaminating batteries: Toyota has a programme recycling them. And please do not compare it to the Volt, I haven't seen one yet: Toyota has been producing hybrids for over 10years now. I am sure all car manufacturers are benefitting from the development work that already has been done.

Even with an audi badge we wouldn't like it. An audi badge is no miracle cure to make people like a car: even the very fuel efficient, practical and IMHO good looking A2 1.4 tdi didn't sell well.

Mmmmm.....it's still slow, ugly and expensive.... If you care about fuel efficiency AND money, you should just get a Yaris. It's $10,000 usd cheaper, has pretty much the same fuel efficiency, it's mechanically simpler...and if you buy it with a manual tranny, it will be even faster to 60 mph than a V6 Charger.

why all of a sudden Jap car makers are putting L-shaped headlights on all their cars??? This prius is so ugly. the engine is underpowered and the whole car is totally impractical. expensive, too. why make a car that's just "hybrid", while toyota can offer a hybrid option on all of their range?

That's exactly what I don't get, PSCS. Why do people need dedicated hybrid cars, if they could instead buy cars they already know and love like the Camry or the Altima with a hybrid option? I do have a guess, indeed... maybe some people just want to show off how far they can go to save the planet, by driving something like a Prius. But man, we're in 2009... are consumers still THAT stupid? I'm afraid the answer is yes.

As a Realtor and someone that drives a lot of miles in the real world I appreciate the improvements. When they release the Prius with the plug-in option I will be putting my money down!
