Lincoln?A compact car? This means that they are going to Europe.

I wouldn't assume that a Lincoln compact is being developed mostly for Europe. This car might make more sense for the USA. OPEC is trying to figure out how to double the price of oil again. If the economy improves enough that people start to buy cars again then oil prices will rise. There appears to be a growing number of American consumers who think that a luxury compact is both a green and class driven status symbol. Older American consumers have figured out that if you want to buy a large domestic sedan that you wait a couple of years for them to sink in price like a bag full of hammers. If you are a Lincoln product planner you have to try something different. Having Mazda and Volvo around can make this a relatively low cost gamble. Taking this car to Europe, though, would be an attempt to invade a market with large numbers of well loved options. I wouldn't invest in a scheme for "Lincoln Who" to crack into VW, Peugot, Renault, several divisions of Alfa, Mini, an upcoming new compact BMW, Smart, Benz A&B Class, Volvo, multiple Euro-GM divisions and lots of Japanese models that we don't see in the USA territory.

I am pretty convinced that Lincoln has no clear idea of who/what they are or want to be. I say this not just because of this concept but also because of the newest offerings. The Ford label even seems more clearly focused and has better identity than Lincoln. I wish them luck but it doesn't look promising to me.

Making Licoln marketable for Europe would inevitably become a crucial point for Ford someday... building compact cars is sure one important step for a succesful crossover... but offering appealing, reliable, elegant cars will be quite probably their major challenge if they are really willing to cross the pond.

I think that Lincoln is seeking Lexus's position, anyway coming to Europe should be easy, Ford have a long tradition on european market, and knows that the europeans expect from a car, so all they have to do is to find a very good design, continue the hybrid programs they have, and use some diesel motors from from the euro Fords they may have a chance.Anyway this Concept C looks good, I could like driving one.

I say bring it to the US, this sucker is hot. Reminds me of the concepts that Chrysler put out in the 90's. Hope Lincoln can make this a reality.

I had low expectations for this, but it's pretty funky. If Ford could put a truly innovative powerplant in this car, I can see it being a hit, and starting a new trend. Especially since driving dynamics and quality of small cars are getting to be world class.

LINCOLN has an identity crisis in terms of design language, similar to the one Buick and Oldsmobile had a decade ago. The idea of taking the luxury-green direction is logical but com'on, they could do much better with the concepts their bringing in.
