thank god it didn't use any design cues from the current impreza. really nice new front grille but still not as sexy and sporty as the mazda 6.

Ohh man, what the heck is this. Looks exactly like the new acuras. can no one design a car these days without those horrid wheel arches? First, the impreza, the forester, now the legacy?? They even made the tribeca look uglier than it was. Does anyone else think that Toyota might be having a little too much influence... I'm thinking twice about being a lifelong Subaru driver.

It's a Camry from hell!! I see a little G35 sedan in the front too. I will say though, I like their take on the big grille trend. The lines are there, but it's not like most where the entire front of the car is basically a hole.

I do really wonder if subarus real/actual customers where asked fro perspective or the potential customers currently driving other brands - that thing looks like car clinic mashed potatoes from hells kitchen! why not just stay true to a loyal and happy customer base ? It's definitely the first one to make it on the 09 ugly car of the year list - congratulations!

It's ok I guess. Though I fear the production model may loose some of its sharp edges, and aggresive look. Now why can't the Impreza look more like this?

Exactly! I was thinking the same thing. It looks like a re-badged G35 and/or M45. It's too HUGE! Why is everything getting so Gigantic?!?!?

I guess it could grow on you......Maybe. But it could definatley do with some improvements. Look at those wheel arches. Ahahahaha. Look at them! Why does Subaru now insist on having arches that massive? Are they trying to compete with Mcdonalds???

Subarus have never ever been overly sexy or beautiful in any way, but this is just plain unimpressive. Even the current version is better looking and more original than this. Really disappointed with this one here.

I think that the production model will look alright. It have SOME nice lines but then again, the new generation Subarus tend to look a little 'off'. I don't mind the new Impreza or the Forester now that they've grown on me so maybe this will too. I can't believe nobody has mentioned the side mirrors yet!

Subaru, as a current model Legacy owner, if you use this design, I promise to never buy a Subaru again. Subaru, for God's sake, employ some actual designers, not some 8 yr old who just realised wheel arches make cars look aggressive. You're giving Ssangyong a good run for their money in the 'most consistently ugly cars' award. You have some great tech, but tech alone won't get you mass market acceptance. If you can't go forwards, don't settle with backwards.

How can they make a car look so ugly. Its a hoax. Right? My God. They are serious! I thought the current model was sort of pleasing to the eye, but this is just butt ugly. Toyota stylist are having too much influence. Its a camry /aurion skin on a subie floor pan.I will definitely by the run out liberty model if this is the truely the next model.
