"VW has put a turbo diesel engine in it and that tips the performance scales even more in its favour." Even more compared to what!? I'm sure the 2.0 TFSI engine would have been cheaper while giving better performance. Consumption would have been up so then, the car couldn't have been called "Blue Sports"... I'm sure the production version will have both engine options. Anyway, nice concept as far as design goes! I hope that if they build it, they keep the interior and not just drop the Golf interior in like they did with the Scirocco!

Looks pretty cool and I think the squat stance lends it a look of some menace and sportiness. The front wheel haunches are really nice. Lets hope it comes to the market with as few changes as possible - Particularly the interior. Good job Volkswagen.

Stunningly attractive design concept ... 10/10 for originality VW at a time when very few new models actually look fresh and different ... this will sell in large numbers when/if it comes on the market (but hopefully without the garish day glow orange soft top).

Wow, very nice approach to VW's new design direction... much better than the dull Golf and the bland Up!

I'm generally not a fan of small convertibles, but this car is fantastic! I'd be very interested to see a coupe variant. -On a side note...and I say this in all seriousness...the rear haunches remind me a bit of an R8

Half a TT, half a Honda S2000. Looks neat and sounds fascinating. Evo magazine details it next month and I hope they get a drive too.

Good effort from VW. First the Scirroco and now this, they maybe getting their act together at last. The girls will love this.

Amazing looking car! the small diesel will work wonders in it! but I think vw is shooting themselves in the foot again. 55mpg? If the 70mpg diesel jetta went down to 30mpg in the city, and 43 on the highway, what are we supposed to expect from this car? 28/35?
