Dodge Circuit EV Unveiled

"Based on the Lotus Europa" ... it looks 100% Europa to me but with changed plastic bumper panels below the light clusters front and rear ... isn't the electric drive also a Lotus development? ... it's hard to comprehend why Lotus would diminish their brand by allowing it to be badged as a Dodge ???

Chrysler has been working on their own electric vehicle (EV) drive-trains for years. I'm sure this is a Chrysler drive-train. I had a customer that developed electric vehicle battery systems. They worked with many auto manufacturers including Chrysler. That was about four years ago. The artificially inflated gas prices we endured '08 helped to push the development of this vehicle. Tesla used the Elise as the platform for their EV. It's a great platform. Chrysler is using the Europa. If this vehicle gets the green light the underpinnings may come from Lotus, but I'm sure it will not look like a Europa. Finally, I'm not certain whether Chrysler will survive current economic conditions. However, it will have to roll out platforms such as EVs to remain viable. They have introduced some bad cars recently. However, they have also made some very good cars too. Unfortunately, the negativity drowns out anything good. The perception of the American car has to change in order for Ford, GM and Chrysler to survive.

And a lot less hungry engine.
