During Ford's preview of the updated SYNC system at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the company released a new video that features an upcoming Lincoln concept that will most likely appear at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The concept's interior ditches the typical wood and cheap plastics that have been a Lincoln hallmark up until recently and instead replaces them with a modern two-tone design that has a European flair. A large instrument panel sweeps across the full length of the dash and it appears that the rear seat is meant for two as a large Lincoln logo occupies the space where a third passenger would typically be.
Since the video focuses mostly on the concept's interior, it makes predicting the exterior design difficult. Several oddly shaped glass roof panels are clearly visible which should result in an open and airy feeling in the cockpit. Judging by rear door design and the slim gap between the front and rear glass it seems possible that this concept could feature rearward opening "suicide doors", a classic throwback to the 1960's Continental. The brand's new styling direction, which can been seen on the new MKS and updated MKZ, should carry over to the concept but expect to be taken up a notch with a bold grille and massive wheels.
