First BMW M7 Spy Photos?

 First BMW M7 Spy Photos?
BMW M7 spy photo

Though not officially so, BMW has on occasion admitted to cooking up a hotter version of the new 7 Series. Could these spy pictures be representing that top of the range BMW called the M7? The pictures landed on the laps of our friends at Motortips after being sent to them by a reader named Francisco.

Francisco had been at his local supermarket about 100km west of Munich when he spotted a different-looking black BMW parked outside. Thinking it was a 2011 5 Series he went for a closer look. Upon realising the vehicle was a 7 Series he noticed other features that set it aside from normal 7ers. For instance, the car had big black wheels with low profile tires and a dual exhaust system with trapezoidal tips, which is different from other models in the 7 Series lineup. Only M cars are fitted with double tailpipes at BMW.

Was it a special owner-tuned version perhaps? That would have made sense had the badges not been deliberately covered to protect the car's true identity. Apart from the badges there is no other disguise visible enough for the eye to see, pointing to an imminent public reveal.

It's the first time that BMW is producing an M-badged 7 Series after many years of speculation. The BMW M7 will go head to head with the Mercedes-Benz S63 / S65 AMG and the upcoming supercharged Jaguar XJR. It should produce in excess of 600hp (447kW).

Not true -- in the early 80s, BMW produced an M version of the E23 7 Series. The vehicle shared its engine with the E28 M5 and E24 M6 of the same era. Very few were produced, and even less remain today.

I am very surprised BMW hasn't built an M7 in the past 3-5 years. With the S63, S65, S8, XJR around, why let other companies enjoy the sales opportunities?

Why would they put badges on a test mule? Sounds fake to me.

Eddicoaster: Maybe BMW was not satisfied with the dynamics of the previous generation 7-Series to warrant an M7?

Hmmmmm.... An M7. I wonder what that would do to Alpina sales.

The 335i coupe and sedan, the 650i and the 750i all have "double tailpipes" now.

First off the car has 4 pipes n its no badges on it n the bmw signs r covered up. K may be a 760 cause m cars have circular tail pipes but only time will tell what bmw rolls out n it looks like a long wheel base they would never build a long m it be the short wheel base but its hard to tell for me if its short or long but like i said will see..........

I would say it´s a 760i prototype with the twinturbo v12 engine. would match very good with the tailpipes because the 6 zylinders have 2 round ones, the V8 has 2 rectangle ones and the v12 4 rectangle ones. the look comes close to the old E32 750i V12 with its 2 square shaped ones.

So, no one here can guess the obvious? It's not a V12... BMW will no longer use them. It's not an M7. It's the new Alpina B7. There have been teaser sketches and all.

that`s right, there will be no M7 because M division makes more or like NA high-revving engines and they are not working on a very comfortable cars such as 7-series! After 760i with V12 and 540hp there won`t be any M7!!! at all!!! This might be a 760i mule or maybe some tuning package, also it is not like for this to have something with Alpina. Alpina is waiting!

this isn´t a B7, there where spyshots from the Alpina Version and they looked very different, especially the exhaust I still say it´s a 760i. bmw itsself confirmed the upcoming of this model again and also confirmed a twinturbo v12.

Either the 760i or the Alpina or an M7.

There is nothing saying M on the car in the picture and BMW has said that they are not gonna come with a 760 v12 cause the 750 twinturbo v8 is as fast and powerful as the old v12 but with lower emissions. I really dont think BMW would come with a M7, I wouldnt mind if they did but just dont think they will. It doesnt even have to be anything new just a bloke with a 7series with new wheels.
