Several images of the European spec Honda Insight have been leaked on the web ahead of the car's debut at the Geneva Auto Show in March.
While the Insight will officially make its world debut this Sunday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, these are the first pictures of the European version and by the looks of it the differences between the two are relativity minor. The biggest change appears to be that the lower front bumper features the addition of two small round fog lights.
The five seat, five door hybrid is powered by a compact version of Honda's IMA hybrid powertrain which should allow motorists to achieve between 40 to 70 mpg according to initial reports. In order to help drivers maximize fuel economy and decrease C02 emissions, the Insight will be equipped with Honda's new interactive Ecological Drive Assist System which can been seen in the leaked images.
Honda predicts that global sales of the new Insight should hit 200,000 units with nearly half of them going to the United States. If Honda remains as aggressive on pricing in Europe as they are in the US, the new Insight could be priced slightly less than the Toyota Prius when it goes on sale.
