I saw this on the news last night, and found that Holden are even less in touch with reality than before. How do they expect to build a brand new hatchback in less than two years, when their parent company is bleeding money so badly? They would have been MUCH better off if they simply tuned a next generation GM Europe Astra for Aussie roads. How did Holden manage to con Kevin Rudd in to handing over funds for the project, when all they presented was a designer's sketch? I suppose the same way the Aus Govt handed over money for Toyota to build a near worthless Camry hybrid...

They already have the Astra badged as a Holden. But maybe they were trying to make a car that fits Australian tastes.

Holden has no identity; that's the problem! Now they want to make a Golf-sized car? I wish them good fortune!
