If you want to make a car go fast you can supercharge it. You can also turbocharge it. Or you can do both. Which is what Danish specialty car maker Zenvo Automotive has done.

Zenvo introduces the ST1 - an exclusively Danish supercar - a wonder of Nordic automotive engineering.

The specs: A 7.0 liter V8, turbocharged, supercharged, kitchen sink-charged, to 1104 hp and producing windmill-levels of torque at 4500 rpm with 1430 Nm. Transmission is a 6-speed manual gearbox with a hydraulic limited slip differential.

The results are lip-locking, head-nodding impressive for this rear-wheel drive Norseman. 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3 seconds flat. An electronically limited top speed of 375 km/h (233 mph). This car can drive across Denmark in about 18 minutes.

For more Northern delights you can visit the site. Or simply revel in the pics here. The car's design strikes a proper right balance between snarling machine-mean and slick, road hugging sleekness. Looks good.

This is Jaw dropping...! Take that Veyron. What is the expected street price, not that I will immediately write a check, just curious...

Danm, this looks nice. I swear I'd move out of the way if I saw this in my review mirror. and speed up just to follow it to it's destination.

guys think for a second not as stylish as a lamborghini not as reliable and comfortable as a veyron not as safe as a ferrari but what the hell if you have deep pockets and a wish to die then what the hell buy one but i bet it will be hell over priced as well.

Uhh, what are you talking about? Style is always a matter of debate. How do you know how reliable it is? How do you know how comfortable it is? How do you know how safe it is? Have you driven this car? Do you own one? Have you seen some crash-testing results or the design of the chassis?

Do you have ANY factual evidence of what you just said, or are you just being an imbecil and making things up?

Word for word, I was gonna say the exact same thing to what kepe has responded with your 'Theory'.

This is what car manufacturing is supposed to be all about...on one side (Audi) with all the money, innovative skills, people etc. etc. and on the other, an "unknown" Danish manufacturer, that comes out with a meaner looking, more powerful car... I can only imagine what it feels like to just get passed by this beast, the back is pure SEXonWheels...Love it!

Woooaaahhhhh... and to think when I think of the Nords, I think of archaic vikings razing villages and ravaging people (being sarcastic here).

This is absolutely amazing! It looks like a demon hungry for speed. Oof! They'd need an imcopetent designer like Chris Bangle to tone the design down just so your body can catch up with your emotions!

Simply smashing!

how is it a copy of the r8, i love when people say stuff like that, but yet at the same time there is no similarities

We Danes make nice cars. The price in Denmark is 2.500.000€ But in germany and other countries it "only" cost 752.000€

@ smitta- its just a question that EVERTHING with 4 wheels is a copy of the R8 (read comments on old articles.BTW - STUNNING car- NOT a competitor for the Veyron- face it- those who buy this likely have the veyron, AND carrera GT, the Enzo,SLR, etc... And they MOST likely are taking it home to the Emirates (to park next to their R8?!?) Its only us poor fools who compare cars in this price league...

For all who love the R8... fine. As for me I never found it very attractive, with it's blacked-out panel looking like a door that doesn't open. The cut lines alone on the R8 make it look like two cars met in the middle. This on the other hand is awesome, and would be my choice over an R8, if just to toss some cash around. LOL! Seriously, the R8 is a great machine, and yet even in the flesh at the last NAIAS it looked... cool, but not breathtaking. This is gorgeous... the last trick will be to deliver an interior with loads of style, heaps of function, and the quality to match the flash of this stunner. Drive on!

Here's a few questions

A) Why doesn't Merc make a gear box like that so they don't have to "limit" the 1000nm?

B)Why would you limit the top speed to 375 since it has a chance to do a lot more?

last one,

C)Where are they going wrong between the wheels and the engine.....because all that power and they don't even break 3 seconds, something's gone wrong.

hitar_potar

well... A) maybe cause merc has engines producing 1000Nm + in its most expensive cars which happen to have an automatic transmision and maybe its difficult to make a good-for-1000Nm+ tranny. :) B) why is the brabus rocket limited to 350 since it's good for 365-366 - maybe there's no point... think: who the hell drives his or her veyron on the limit (407)??? C) well it's a two-wheel drive, not 4, maybe it has some difficulties with the grip at first and therefore loses some tenths. or they just haven't measured it well yet, remember at furst the veyron was supposed to crack a 0-100km/h time of 2,9 sec, when they put it into production, booooom, 2,5 sec. :P

a good-for-1000Nm + automatic tranny that is*

radmeister
December 19, 2008 3:16 PM
Mercedes doesn't put a crazy tranny in their cars simply because an automatic transmission to handle 2000nm would cost ridiculous ammounts of $, diamond disks and titanium. A manual transmission is much easier to get higher resistance, all it is is cogs made of steel, no disks(other than the clutch). Even manual transmissions to take 2000nm are well over 30,000$. And what's the point of that in a S class or CL?
