Mercedes SLC Gullwing Caught as it Begins Winter Testing
Mercedes' successor to the Mercedes-McLaren SLR spotted in the arctic snow
Here are some recent spy shots of the Mercedes Gullwing as it begins it's cold weather testing in temperatures as low as -26° C (-14.8° F).
The Gullwing will be Mercedes' own version of the successor to the Mercedes-McLaren SLR after its divorce from McLaren on that project. McLaren are working on their own version too.
Details are not definite on this model so all we can say is that it is expected in 2010 and will have a twin-turbo V8, connected to Mercedes' 7-tronic automatic gearbox, with somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 horsepower (441 kW).
The new Gullwing is expected to carry the label SLC and it will become the first model in the Mercedes line-up to be produced exclusively by the AMG tuning arm.
Take a peek at the pics. Enjoy.

I wonder if it will get the MCT transmission, it should do by all rights if the SL63 gets it. Unless they make a proper twin clutch affair for it instead, epicyclic boxes are so yesterday.

man, 600 hp connected to Mercedes' 7-tronic automatic gearbox! the engine will rip the gear box of! i think it's better to use there 5 speed auto gear box used in the SLR.
