Following its official release as well as an information package that covers everything from what a Porsche Cayman S is, to what it does, now comes a video that demonstrates some of these abilities. Cayman S is fitted with a new 3.4-litre boxer engine producing 320bhp (235kW). In the video you can see it taking off to a claimed 0 - 100km/h time of 4.9 seconds, very quick indeed.
There are no extreme track antics to speak of; this is but a promotional video clip, no Nurburgring actions here at all. Highlights of its design elements and other qualities are shown. With Porsche's new PDK double-clutch gearbox system, the Cayman S shows very good response on the throttle, returning a top speed of 277 km/h (172 mph). We don't see that in the video, so we'll take their word for it. Otherwise wait for first deliveries in February 2009.
