Lucifa: the cayenne wasn't a niche per se, it was a stylish and powerful offroader with good handling on the tarmac in the middle of the suv and economic euforia, a kind of car the wealthy were likely to welcome warmly, but this case is entirely different, the target audience for such a car is barely inexistent in practice, especially with nice X5 and X6's slowly starting to pile up at dealerships

This BMW spokeperson stated a couple of months ago they had ditched the project, mainly taking into consideration low interest shown in customer surveys and the catastrophic results Mercedes experienced with the R-series... and now this? Epic fail...

The artist basically took the new 7 series front end and shoved in the X6 rear part albeit some modifications. I doubt it will look like this from the front. Front should be closer to the new 5 series.

One can never question premium car makers decisions to create never ending niche market perceptions for their products. Ultimately it is the potential customer market which will decide success or failure of the product. Tough times are ahead for all automobile makers, even the arrogant Toyota car maker is showing concerns.

I would buy the Merc R Clas AMG. I saw one the other day - wicked looking and exhaust note.

I like the artist's rendering, although it looks a little unbalanced. If they manage to nail the design and make the car more practical than the X6 it should sell.

Keep saving and replace Laguna. Hot RWD hatchback anyway. Previous renderings I've seen were better than this one.
