With the North American International Auto Show just over a month away, Fisker Automotive has released an additional image of their highly anticipated Karma sedan. Designed by Aston Martin alum Henrik Fisker, the production version stays true to the original concept car which debuted last year in Detroit.
The plug-in hybrid is expected to be able to travel up to 50 miles before a GM sourced 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine which produces 260 horsepower kicks in to recharge the batteries. Owners who wish to take environmentally friendliness to the extreme can equip their Karma with the optional roof solar panel. Fisker predicts that the new sedan will be able to reach 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 125 mph.
Production of the $87,900 sedan is scheduled to start in late 2009 and it will be built in Finland by Valmet. The company is projecting an annual production target of up to 15,000 units.
