You guys don't get it. The stig is just a character, doesn't matter who is underneath, Nigel Mansel or Kimi Raikonnen or both. Its just like Batman is a character.

Damon Hill is the stig. No proof, just a guess/speculation. It could be more than one person too acting as stig in different episodes. Who knows... after all keeping it a mystery is more fun than know who this fellow actually is.

apparently Clarkson revealed who the Stig is at an MPH show a few years ago... a friend of mine went and Clarkson said he's "just a bloke". do you honestly think that nobody would have noticed if an F1 driver like Damon Hill wasn't making regular visits to the Top Gear studio?

This Stig is Ben Collins 100%. I have seen him on his mobile phone in the Stig's overalls at MPH when he appeared at the show.

It's Ben Collins. Everyone knows that. For proof, read the HSE report into Hammond's crash, where it refers to the racing driver by name as having been on site in his role as a permanent consultant to Top Gear.

i used to be curious about the stig's personality but now i know it's better not to know who he is. once we find out his real name, fun is gone.

I heard it was currently Ben Collins too, from a number of different people and also some video clip of him getting out of the car at the godalming airstrip where it's filmed, one of the long distance shots.
it used to be Perry Mcarthy, that i know for sure, he fell out with them over the rights to use The Stig as branding for t shirts games etc....

I dnt know and dnt care, knowing who the Stig is wuld runin the show. But I do know this...
Some say his helmet is modeled after britney spears head and some say he has named every single blade around the Top Gear track... all we know is, hes The Stig.
