Now that the Essen Motor Show is open to the public, here's a review of what to expect if you plan on attending the show.
Volkswagen had a good showing as the company debuted their Eos White Night and the limited production VW Scirocco Collectors Edition. A number of tuners also did their work on VW models, fitting for a German tuner show. Abt showed their versions of the Scirocco and Golf VI, while a special TUNE IT! SAFE! Scirocco was displayed in a joint venture between the German Federal Ministry of Transport and VDAT eV (Association of Automobile Tuners in Germany).
VW's other brands also had a good showing as Audi unveiled the new R8 LMS and Audi tuner PPI showed the new Razor GTR which is based on the R8. Even VW owned Skoda got in the game by showing their Octavia RS+ Concept.
Turning firm Lumma showed the CLR X 650 which based on the BMW X6 and CLR 550 R based on Porsche Cayenne. A few other sport-utes appearing at the show include the Lorinser Mercedes GLK and the Abt Audi Q5.
Notable debuts included two styling packages for the Opel Insignia, one from Steinmetz and another by Irmscher. While Techart used the show to present their Porsche 911 Turbo based GTstreet R which produces 650hp.
