C'mon guys, the big 3 are history. All of these measures could have been done before we reached this crisis point, same with GM and to a lesser degree Ford too. Spending big now isnt going to help in the medium term let alone the longer term. The difficult part is now biting the bullet and trying to move forward. We have been living in a global economy for the last 15 years or more, whether you have noticed or not. The simple fact is that sentiment has no place in world trade. Giv eit a few years and car buyers wont even remember the brands that are about to be flushed down the toilet. JB, London

The three should merge as one corporation. GFC Corp. Eliminate bad slow sellers, keep good selling cars.

Meh, Chrysler isn't worth saving, imho. Nothing but crappy cars, piss poor designs and irrelevant products. the 300 may have sold well, but it brings nothing innovative or new to the industry. What a poser piece of shite!!! The Charger? Fugly and horribly irrelevant, especialy concerning its nameplate. Only fit for fleet cars, which mostly excel at wasting fuel and other resources. Dodge Ram srt-10 ???!? Useless. Dodge Nitro? Waste of energy. Magnum...wtf? Ford and GM, worth saving and somewhat relevant. At least their product portfolios have redeemable qualities.

I agree with you 100%! Chrysler has put out nothing but garbage ever since I could remember. The 300 (aka the poor mans Bentley) wasn't a bad design when it first came out but its now nothing more than a cheap fashion piece targeted at people who want to look like they're more than what they are. And can anyone please tell me what the hell they were thinking with the Sebring? That has got to be the ugliest car I've ever seen! It just further proves that the heads at Chrysler seriously don't have a clue. It's the same folks who believed that "cab-forward design" and old tech engines, such as the 8.0 liter V-10 viper engine that keeps getting bigger (up to 8.4 liters now), were innovative steps in the right direction; engineering anyone? The industries continuing trend of settling for products that are barely competitive and second rate at best isn't worth investing in.

Awe common, Chrysler isn't doing that bad. Look at there srt8 charger, it gets way better fuel economy compared to a similar powered audi, cough cough R8 cough. Even the viper will annihilate any similarly priced euro trash or jap scrap sports car. All the while getting better fuel economy. Your just sad that it does this all while using an engine with a larger displacement.

Chrysler is doomed, the Mercedes platform did the 300 and magnum well as they were not only lookers but also somewhat good to drive thanks to the old E class underpinnings. The only thing worth mentioning is the voyager cheap trick people mover that they invented - but then that was centuries ago, and the minivan is long surpassed buy the japs...

No one would miss Chrysler. To bail out the Big 3 would be the end of free market enterprise in the US.

Jeep deserves another chance in more competent hands, though.

I think you people would complain no matter what. I also thnk that none of you would ever buy an American car. I think Chrysler products are relevant and competitive. Whats competitive about a $15,000 compact car anyway? Its design to be a bland small car. You want me to believe that somewhere somehow the Toyota Corolla or Subaru WRX is the most beautiful car to look at? What in this class makes competition? And somehow these cars are better than the Ford Focus or Chevy Malibu? It doesnt matter who has Jeep because no one can make Jeep better than it is without messing it up. There are other points but I dont think you guys know anything about cars besides what you dont like.
