This is a handsome car but I would rather have a Mercedes Benz, just my opinion

Now what's the difference between the A4 Cab and the A5 Cab?

yeah that's what audi says but i don't get it either - aren't they both two door four seater soft tops with similar dimensions and similar/identical engines? or does the 5 share the wheelbase with the 6?

But the a4 cabriolet is beeing replaced by this a5, so what are you up to? A4 cabriolet is based on the previous generation A4 while this one is based on the new one. Btw. the blue S is just lovely.

A little boring, since its design has lost a lot of its charm by losing the smooth roofline and the coupe sporty appeal. But still a very good looking car, of course...
By the way: CANVAS? Why? Leave the canvas top to the A3 and give us some hardtop action, Audi!

you've got a point - the reason the a5 is so good looking is its low roofline... which is now gone.

Simply because it is a more elegant and stylish approach than a huge hardtop (this is a 4-seat car) that would have taken much more trunk space and deformed the original shape.

Ok, i don't buy this "Audi rain dance' coz the A4 Cab and the lines it has are virtually as tricky to spot the difference with the A5 except for the rear.
What happened to the 5.6 sec dash 0 - 100m in a cab is impressive though.

beautiful....
I love those wheels on the S. I have them on my RS4

S version with 19" looks awesome indeed, and suits better the fast but rather silky V8 engine than the coup? version (assumed to be sportier).

New A5 front on old rs4 cabrio body.

Where is this supposed German safety stuff? I see no roll hoops above the seats.
December 3, 2008 6:54 pm
lol I call b.s. on your answer. By the same logic I could say that the latest generation of convertible corvettes have incorporated the roll hoops right into the head rest. I have no proof but since I said it, it must be correct.

joe_limon, if you haven't been living in a cave these past several years (which it seems you have been) you'd know that the Germans have ditched the "hoops" in their larger, four passenger cabrio's. Instead they use roll bars that automatically pop out at the first sign of a roll-over. They reserve the hoops for the smaller, two-seater sports-cars.

Hello next car! Ironically, I'm awaiting delivery for a A3 Sportback, but that might soon become a runaround! Where do I sign, Audi?
