What makes me want to kill myself with laughter, is how horrible audi's are on gas. Heck the 420hp R8 gets wayyy worse mileage then the 425hp SRT8 Challenger. Also, the 6.2L Corvette gets the same mileage as a 3.1L A4 quattro. LOL fail.

Why not make trucks with hybrid diesels plug ins, then you could have 30-40mpgs in a full size truck. Also limit top speeds to 100mph and with the lower gearing smaller engines could then be used

If they did that, then you will be running your smaller engines at higher rpms and a more open throttle position. The net result would be a shitty less reliable truck that gets worse mpg.

at least with the lower gearing and smaller engines, the rest would be good to do...

this is very interesting of FORD to present their plans for all electric Pickup amd Sedan....Question does this mean that FORD will be phasing out normal gas engine versions...I don't so, this is a political move.....from when I was last in USA (2007) the only people who have shown any interest in Electric cars are actors and local politicans in California. After all the Toyota Pirus has been available for sometime in USA...only on the West Coast has there been any demand for this type of vehicle. Does anybody remember the ZEV(Zero Emission Vehicle) policy back in the early part of 1990's that California wanted to introduce as state law?...it was killed off by the very same auto makers who are asking for federal bailout. Also the infrastructure is in it's infancy...I cannot this is countrywide for at least a decade.

no offence, but the prius isn't an electric car, and it looks but ugly. There is a reason why the only people who drive them only drive them for the image they show off.

Joe_Limon...yes agree the Toyota Prius is an hybrid...this car is the nearest to ZEV at the moment (mass market). However, my point is that USA is atleast a decade out to try and get the infrastructure ready and there does not seem to be a demand especially not mid or northern parts of Amercia.

last I checked almost every house in America has power. That seems like infrastructure enough to support electric cars.
