I feel terribly cynical to be delighted by all this recession/depression stuff. Can't wait till things cost what they are supposed to again.

This is frustrating....American cars are finally going to be able to show off a decent product but no one will be there. Unfortunately i can't justify making the drive in for it if 50% of the normal show won't be there so i will be part of that not coming crowd

Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Land Rover and Nissan are hardly half the show. There's still GM, Ford, Chrysler, Honda/Acura, Toyota/Lexus/Scion, Subaru, Mazda, VW Group, MB, BMW Group, Hyundai/Kia, Chengfeng, Chery, Ssangyong, Tata, Zil, LawnBoy, Frigidaire and the lovely weather... I wouldn't miss it.

yeah, its an exaggeration but i can def can miss those Chinese brands that were named. And don't forget the DUB brand (a disgrace to automobiles). Sorry those who travel to this show (like me) will be showing in lower numbers.

GT-R was launched a year ago in LA. Nissan showed Cube and 370Z last week in LA. They have nothing *new* to show in Detroit. But yeah, the no-show thing doesn't seem to help slow sales. Ghosn's looking at the significant expense of attending and the return on investment, but he might be forgetting the value of not being forgotten by consumers. Some people are determined to save money no matter what it costs. ;)

I saw one comming back from a curvey (really curvey) road the other day as I was going in to it. I think it was driving from malibu which is near LA.

Nissan can only make 1000 gt-rs a month being hand built etc so they are still rare in most parts of the world.
