Obviously you don't live near any major European city. I own a BMW and take the bus and metro regularly. Transportation systems work in Europe. This would be very useful feature for me. Not having my electronic travel card is one less thing to carry.

personally i think it is abit silly, i want a key to be a key a credit card to be a credit card and if i need to look up bus, train and aeroplane info ill do it on my phone...

One look at the negative criticism of this key tells me one thing. All the critics above are behaving like lumps of dog sh!t (LODS). Do you honestly believe that credit cards will stay in their current form (card form)? If the tyre is being reinvented, what would stop the credit cards being reinvented. The storage of bus data on the key would be most useful to the inhabitants of the 'wet islands'and Europe. There public transport is complex and advanced as such one would drive his car to the train station - park the car there and jump onto a train or bus. Public transport is the future of work commuting anyway.

Ha Ha Ha !!! When you get mugged all they do is steal your key and not your wallet. When you go into the store you'll hear. That'll be $50.00 sir, will that be cash or Car Key? Ha Ha Ha !! Soon BMW will incorporate your cell phone into your key. During a board meeting your car key will start ringing. Ha Ha Ha!!! Sorry ladies and Gentlemen, I have to take this call and then you shove your car key into your ear !!

No doubt an interesting idea, but as MTC said, why not have it the other way around? Why not give your cellphone the ability to FULLY sync to your car since it already serves as a credit card, multimedia, address book and so much more? The simple reason these ideas won't work in most places in the world, theft!

I can't believe they're spending money on such an idiotic thing! Car controller combined with a phone shown by Audi in Metroproject concept is a way to go. Anyway, why do I need bus information in my car key if I cannot read it anywhere except the car?

I wish you all would stop saying the iDrive is complex. It is not! Some people just have no sense of learning new technology. Their brain is too narrow for something like an iDrive that is not even complicated to use. Geez, stop with the iDrive bash already!! Learn it damn it!!
