why don't auto makers keep suicide doors on mid-range cars like this? are they really that much more expensive than conventional doors?

I think they are actually, as there may be no B pillar thus compromised structural rigidity which have to be reinforced in other ways, and that would wind the price up. Anyway, it's about time for a replacement Volvo, I was worried for a while because I've read somewhere there is no new S60 planned for some longer time due to costcuts in the company, but I guess that was a b-sh*t. Looking great so far, inside and out!

That looks fantastic and a sexy car is what Volvo need to help rid the marque of the staid reputation it has now.
However, it will lose most of the sexiness if previous Volvo concept to production transitions are any indication - Remember the XC60 Concept to XC60 production change?

This design does look good, but it looks way to much like the Jaguar C-XF. I really like the Volvo S40 and S80 but they should never look like a Jaguar.

Good looking car. I see the next styling trend emerging with the wave line along the side flanks, as already seen on the Audi A4/A5 and even Hyundai Elantra.

soulful, sporty, sexy and still classy. now THAT is a nice design against odd bmws, boring audis and chunky mercs.
okay, now i'm gonna get killed in four, three, two...

The styling is good, very good in fact ... clean and fresh, but FWD cars have limited appeal in the near premium market.
